Reading through the Bible

What?

I want to read through the Bible this year.  I’ll be using the ESV daily reading plan and reading from the ESV Study Bible.

How?

I will be using Jerry Seinfeld’s “don’t break the chain” productivity plan and the accompanying web app to keep me on task.  I would also suggest watching this crash course in How to Study the Bible by David Platt.  A PDF is also available if you don’t have time to listen; although the 6 hour investment is totally worth it.

Skip a day or week?

Don’t frickin’ worry about it.  Don’t try to catch up.  Just read the suggested passages one day at a time.

It’s awesome. I kinda feel like one should get a merit badge for finishing.

I hope to see reading-through-the-Bible catch on more. Otherwise Christian daily living seem to float away from God to our own imaginings.
